WHAT IS NIGHTSUP
NightSUP (Stand Up Paddle Boarding) is SUP with powerful LED lighting kits attached beneath the boards allowing you to see all of the activity beneath the boards at night.
After a detailed safety briefing and brief lesson (our aim is to have everyone standing up enjoying the experience) you will soon be gliding serenely around the beautiful shore-front of iconic Akaroa.
WHAT WILL YOU SEE?
The sea-life really comes alive and is highly visible under the lights as you follow your guide around the shore for a full hour on your paddleboard. Expect to see plenty of fish species darting around attracted by the lights along with plant life along the sea floor. View incredible sunsets from the water and look back at gorgeous Akaroa lit up in the dark - There maybe some surprises too...

I HAVE NEVER PADDLED BEFORE
90% of the folk we take out are new to SUP and for this reason we provide a proper lesson on the beach before anyone gets on a board.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR
We recommend dressing appropriately for the air temperature, it is extremely rare to fall off our boards but you must be happy getting what you are wearing wet just in case. Wetsuits are not required. In winter months polyprops are great.
HOW MANY OF US CAN GO?
We can cater for up to 10 riders per trip and complete one trip per evening so get in quick.
IS IT SAFE?
Your certified Guide has an intimate knowledge of the strict route we take. You will be provided with a stable Stand Up Paddle Board, Life Jacket and leash. As we are within approximately 100 metres of the shore for the entire trip you are very close to shore the whole time. We want you to have a great time and an experience you will never forget so we take your safety very seriously. We only run on calm nights so you don't need to be a highly experienced rider to participate.
